This 32 piece chess set has been artistically hand modelled by J. Brookes, cast in poly stone resin and exquisitely hand painted.

Each piece has been selected from 15th and 16th century woodcut engravings, from the Sea Devil that ravages the coastline to the Siren and Merman who lure sailors to their doom. The Unicorn symbolises love while the Griffin protects and guards against evil. The Harpy snatches wanderers, never to be seen again.
